Veteran R&B/Urban jazz singer/songwriter, PHIL PERRY, launched his career, at the age of 15, as the lead vocalist & writer of the 1970's soul group The Montclairs.
He later joined forces with Montclairs co-leader, Kevin Sanlin, and as a duo - Perry & Sanlin - recorded a pair of albums on Capitol Records in the early 80's.
After the duo separated and nearly a decade later, he once again signed with Capitol, launching his solo career in 1991. His #1 hit, 'Call Me', a remake of Aretha Franklin's 1970 hit, and his debut solo album - The Heart of the Man - established him as an R&B hitmaker.
After four well received albums in the 90's, Perry's 5th solo album - MAGIC - had the odd fortune of being released September 11, 200l - the very day the Singer was scheduled to perform at the World Trade Center for two lunch hour concerts.
Devastated by the tragedy of 911, Perry began recording again when Don Grusin invited him to be a part of the all-star Grammy nominated CD/DVD project 'The Hang' (2004).
