"Miles Smiles" brings together an all - star cast of Miles Davis alumni from his comeback period, led by Davis' sole protege Wallace Roney. All - star members include Darryl Jones, Omar Hakim, Joey DeFrancesco, Larry Coryell, and Rick Margitza. Phil Perry @ Java Jazz Festival 2013

Veteran R&B/Urban jazz singer/songwriter, PHIL PERRY, launched his career, at the age of 15, as the lead vocalist & writer of the 1970's soul group The Montclairs.

He later joined forces with Montclairs co-leader, Kevin Sanlin, and as a duo - Perry & Sanlin - recorded a pair of albums on Capitol Records in the early 80's.
After the duo separated and nearly a decade later, he once again signed with Capitol, launching his solo career in 1991. His #1 hit, 'Call Me', a remake of Aretha Franklin's 1970 hit, and his debut solo album - The Heart of the Man - established him as an R&B hitmaker.

After four well received albums in the 90's, Perry's 5th solo album - MAGIC - had the odd fortune of being released September 11, 200l - the very day the Singer was scheduled to perform at the World Trade Center for two lunch hour concerts.

Devastated by the tragedy of 911, Perry began recording again when Don Grusin invited him to be a part of the all-star Grammy nominated CD/DVD project 'The Hang' (2004).

Dream Theater - A Dramatic Turn of Events Tour

A Dramatic Tour of Events was a worldwide tour by the North American progressive metal band Dream Theater, promoting their eleventh studio album.[1] It was band's first tour with the new drummer Mike Mangini, who replaced Mike Portnoy after his sudden departure from the band in September 2010. The tour began July 4, 2011 in Rome, Italy and concluded September 1, 2012 in Brasília, Brazil.[2] Unlike the two tours prior, Dream Theater did not tour Australia.

The tour started with a "warm-up" leg in Europe that included a variety of summer festivals and a short number of own shows. On August 1, 2011, near the end of the first leg, Dream Theater's current label, Roadrunner Records, announced new tour dates for North America. The band toured with the American metalcore band and label partner, Trivium. Trivium appeared on most of the dates until Grand Prairie. The Following shows were supported by guitar virtuoso Andy McKee.[3] The Second European leg was supported by Periphery on all dates. The Asian leg was again on the capable hands of Andy McKee. On April 13, 2012, Dream Theater announced a second North American leg to start on June 15 in Rochester, NY. Supporting act starting on the Columbus show towards the end of the tour was Crimson ProjeKct. On June 9, 2012, it was announced a South American Leg with "an evening with" format with longer sets. It was Dream Theater's debut in Guatemala, Costa Rica and El Salvador. This Leg marked the end of promotion to A Dramatic Turn of Events, being the final leg of this extensive World tour.

On April 23, 2012 it was announced by the guitarist John Petrucci, during an interview to Artisan News, that a live DVD was on the plans of the band for this tour but refused to give further details. On July 6, 2012 it was reported by Blabbermouth.net, and later confirmed by the band, that the two live Shows scheduled to 19 and 20 of August in Buenos Aires, Argentina at Luna Park would be filmed for a future live DVD and Blu-ray release in 2013.[4][5]
